Devlog 9: Sprint 2 Part 3

It's us again, the Fare Exchange development team. 

New items to tackle on the agenda, new cool things to show you guys!

Art

UI time!

We got working on a start-, player select-, game- and end UI.  
We searched for a nice font, got some templates as the buttons and now everything works as it should













Programming

The end draws near, much like the newly implemented sinking mechanic of the ship. While we fervently hope it never befalls you, the perils lurking in Fare Exchange can rend vessels apart.

Fixed a lot of major bugs and errors.

Also the add player character screen has the possebility to use with a controller.

Sound

We created and implemented beautiful, magical sounds for our UI buttons. 

We completed our attack layer with the oar and added a cartoony impact to our skeleton, layered with a whistle and marimba to emulate the sound of bones clashing. 

This enemy also has new footsteps, achieved by layering hardwood stick sounds with normal footsteps.

For its voice, we recorded the sound designer’s voice, and processed it with many effects to emulate its grunts.

If players push the barrels or boxes on the boat, it emits a hit sound. 

We wanted to add a parodic feel to the holes created on our precious boat , when players fall through it , and we achieved this by playing a funny whistle when you fall through them. 

Lastly, all interaction sounds with fuel have been completed, including when you pick up the flame and when you introduce it into the engine.
